In his first year doing the 400 metres hurdles, Annsert Whyte has achieved the “A” standard for participation at the World Championships in Moscow this August. The standard of 49.40 seconds was bettered when Whyte registered a time of 49.36 in winning the event at the JAAA Development Meet at Jamaica’s National Stadium in Kingston last Saturday, June 8.

Whyte has been regularly lowering his personal best in successive meets over the past weeks. His aim now is to finish in the top three at the National Championships next week in order to secure his place on the national team. If he gets over that hurdle, we wait to see how low he can go.

Annsert is doing exceptionally well. I pray he stay healthy/injury free. Once healthy he will kick ass at World Championship. Thats my prediction.
