It was unique because the athletes’ tag did not represent a country, nor did it say All Stars, it said RACERS TRACK CLUB!
What a glorious feeling it must have been for all the Racers staff and fans, when Mario Forsythe, Kemar Bailey-Cole, Warren Weir and Usain Bolt, ran a time of 37.74s. This time not just broke the meet record, but it was done by a team of club members and not a National team! Amazing as it was, this time was bettered by the club at the Penn Relays in 2010.
This event was the last event for Racers athletes at the London games. Ristananna Tracey ran 55.55s in the 400m hurdles on Friday. Also on Friday, Warren Weir made his statement by winning the 200m in 19.89s followed in second place by Jason Young in 19.99s. Usain Bolt’s 9.85s in the 100m shouts to the world that, “I am here to run and win and nothing else will take the headlines when I am around.” Rosemarie Whyte is recovering steadily with her 51.60s 7th place in the 400m.
