It has now been confirmed that Yohan Blake will run at this Saturday’s Camperdown Classic athletic meeting at Kingston’s National Stadium. This will be his first competitive race for the year. Blake is Jamaica’s national champion in the 100 and 200 metres, having won both races at last year’s National Championships. Later last year he established himself as the second fastest man in history with a 9.69 seconds run to win the 100 metres at the Athletissima Lausanne Diamond League meeting.
Blake ran the 400 metres to open his season at the last two editions of the Camperdown Classic. He is reported to be working even harder in training than usual, in order to maintain his nickname of “the Beast.”
