Rosie Wins in Birmingham

Rosemarie Whyte won the 400 metres at the Diamond League meeting in Birmingham on Sunday 26 August in a season’s best time of 50.20 seconds. In her first race since the Olympics, she defeated several Olympic finalists including the silver medalist Christine Ohuruogu and the bronze medalist Dee Dee Trotter.

In the men’s 200 metres later in the day, Mario Forsythe finished eighth in 20.80 in a race won by another Jamaican, Nickel Ashmeade, in 20.12.
