Bailey-Cole, Weir Win in Poland

In a return to action a week after their Olympian exploits, Kemar Bailey-Cole and Warren Weir registered the top performances by Racers athletes at the Third Memorial Kamila Skolimowska athletics meeting in Warsaw (Poland) Sunday. Running into a strong headwind (-1.6 metres per second) Bailey-Cole won the 100 metres in 10.24 seconds. In second place was Trinidadian relay starter Keston Bledman (10.28) who just edged out Kittitian veteran Kim Collins (10.29).

Warren Weir in the 200 metres had to contend with an even stronger headwind (-1.8 m/s) but easily won in 20.49 seconds ahead of local hopefuls Kamil Krynski (20.95) and Dariusz Kuc (21.03).

Another Racers athlete, Edino Steele, came second in the 400 metres in 45.88 behind Polish winner Pavel Maslak (45.10).

The UWI’s Hansle Parchment won the 110 metres hurdles in 13.34 seconds (wind -1.5) ahead of the USA’s Ryan Wilson (13.54).
