Racers 2011 Season Ends

By September 22, 2011 No Comments

“Dem a go tired fi see wi face, but dem can’t get wi outa di race!!”

What a magnificent end to a great season for Racers. On Thursday, the ever improving Schillonie Calvert won the 100m in Slovakia in 11.17s. Edino Steele was 2nd in the 400m ‘B’ race in a time of 47.62s.

It was Brussells that coach Mills’ prediction of ‘fireworks’ from Blake this season showed itself to the track and field world. His 19.26s world leading time and personal best time shocked everyone and moved the spotlight from Bolt who had just won the 100m in 9.76s, a world leading time. This was a good result for the team mates who now have one World Championship medal and one World Leading time each. Ironically, they switched around these titles for the 100m and the 200m. RACERS RULES THE WORLD IN THE 100m and 200m for 2011.

Other performances at the Brussells meet for Racers are Allodin Fothergill 4th in the 400m in a season’s best time of 45.51s and Davita Prendagast 6th in the women’s 400m in 52.12s.

Welcome home Racers athletes and coaches! We are so proud of you.
