The memories of Daegu 2011 are all that’s left now.  What beautiful memories they are!

DAY 9

The day started with Yohan making his contribution in the heats of the 4 X 100m relay and ended with Yohan running a blistering third leg to hand over to Usain in the final. The resulting world record of 37.04s, was more than we expected from the quartet of Nesta Carter,  Michael Frater, Yohan Blake and Usain Bolt. Even the timing of the medal ceremonies for the 200m and the 4 X 100m relay added to the splendour of the day, as Racers showed themselves to the world. It was beautiful to behold.

Racers had twelve athletes on the Jamaican team, seven received medals. The medal report for Jamaica is:

MEN

100m Gold – Yohan Blake RACERS

200m Gold – Usain Bolt RACERS

4 X 400m relay Bronze – Jermaine Gonzales RACERS, Allodin Fothergill RACERS

4 X 100m relay Gold – Yohan Blake RACERS, Usain Bolt RACERS

200m Gold

400m hurdles Silver

4 X 100m Silver

The coaching staff headed by Coach Glen Mills has a lot to be proud of. Coach Bertland Cameron must be hailed for the significant contribution of his quarter milers.
