What a wonderful end to the championships for Jamaica. Our anthem was played as the last three anthems of the meet. Everyone will leave the 2013 Moscow World Championships with the Jamaican anthem resounding in their ears. They will never forget it. We thank you father for blessing our land.
Although a bit premature, we can say there has been no word of problems in the camp. This has been manifested in the chemistry of the Relay teams. Even when there was a mistake, it was quickly rectified as seen with the exchange between Bailey-Cole and Ashmeade. Kudos to the coaching staff and Team Management.
The selection of the team did not generate any major disquiet among the Track and Field fans. We can therefore conclude that selection was good. Hence, in spite of the absence of Asafa, Sherone, Blake and VCB, we still had a top class team.
Of course we will be plagued with the ‘what ifs’ and they are many. Hansle and Riley’s injury, Kaliese and the 4 X 400m Women’s Relay disqualifications fall in this category. We cannot dwell on this as every country has their own moments. It is all par for the course.
We commend all those who participated in this championships and congratulate those who got medals for Jamaica. To Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce and Usain Bolt there are no words we can say which can truly express the gratitude this nation owes to you for the superlative performances you gave on behalf of this land we all love.
Well Done to all the athletes who competes u make JAMAICA proud !
