Kemar Bailey-Cole tries again this Friday 13 July to lower his 100 metres personal best below 10.00 seconds. Last Saturday in Madrid the wind was too strong. At the Aviva London Grand Prix (Diamond League meeting) where he runs this Friday, the cool weather is likely to be a bigger problem. The field is very competitive. In his heat, he runs in a lane sandwiched between Tyson Gay and Keston Bledman. If he can channel the adrenaline positively, another personal best could be a real possibility; and it would be lucky Friday the 13th after all.

On Saturday, the second day of the meet, four of his Racers team-mates will face the starter. Schillonie Calvert runs the 100 metres, with Carmelita Jeter and Tianna Madison the fastest women in her heat.

In the 200 metres, Marvin Anderson and Mario Forsythe will carry the Racers colours against a field headed by Christophe Lemaitre and Churandy Martina.

The day’s final race, the women’s 400 metres, will see Rosemarie Whyte competing in almost an Olympic dress rehearsal against defending Olympic champion Christine Ohuruogu and world champion Amantle Montsho.
