“All dem a talk mi a steppa.” So well put by Usain. He is  definitely back to the Usain Bolt we all know and love.

Over the last five days our athletes have shown that they have been prepared well.

Gonzales in a galiant run missed out on a medal when he faded in the end to place fourth in the 400m finals.

Rest Day

Allodin Fothergil leads the 4X400 relay to win their heat and move on to the finals.

Rosemarie Whyte, Shereefa Lloyd and Davita Prendagast of Racers along with Patricia Hall, ran a season’s best of 3:22.01s to put Jamaica in the finals of the 4X400m relay.

Although Marvin Anderson crashed out after the first round, Usain qualified in style, running 20.32s to win his heat in the 200m. He moved on to the semi-finals.

Wilbert Walker was twelfth in the preliminary round of the Triple Jump managing only 15.97m.

The 200m semi-finals saw Usain Bolt in fantastic form winning his heat in 20.31s. setting the stage for a very fast final.

Allodin Fothergill ran the first leg of the 4X400m relay which won Bronze in the final.

Rosemarie Whyte and Davita Prendagast ran well to contribute to the silver medal performance of the women’s 4X400m relay. It was so beautiful to watch Davita as she moved forward in the race.

The race that the world waited for came and Usain Bolt did not disappoint. He entered the stadium to the usual cheers. He played to the crowd in the only way that he knows. Even the basket bearer was a recipient of his charm. then it all unfolded. Usain Bolt is not off peak as many thought. He is the world champion again. His time of 19.40s. demonstrated to the world that this is an extra ordinary athlete. The crowd loved him, the media loved him (the c amera men certainly got a little practice in running) and he is the biggest publicity card for the IAAF.

We anxiously await the final day.
