Contrary to our earlier report, Kemar Bailey-Cole has not yet run a valid sub-10 seconds 100 metres. His time of 9.98 seconds at the Madrid World Challenge meet on Saturday 7 July was marred by an over-the-limit following wind of 3.8 metres per second. For a performance to be accepted as valid by the IAAF, it must have an aiding wind of not more than 2.0 metres per second.

The official website for the Madrid meet had initially posted the wind speed as 0.0 metres per second, in spite of the infield clock showing +3.8. The website was eventually adjusted to show that the correct wind reading was in fact that of the infield clock.

It is hoped that, given further competitive opportunities in Europe this Summer, Kemar will pass this milestone before long.
