Ristananna Tracey recorded a new personal best of 54.52 seconds in winning the women’s 400 metres hurdles in dominant fashion at Jamaica’s National Championships on Friday night. Second and third were Danielle Dowie and Nickiesha Wilson in identical times of 54.94. These three should join Kaliese Spencer on the Jamaican team for the event at the World Championships in Moscow in August. As the current Diamond League champion, Spencer benefits from a wild card.
This has been Tracey’s best season since she broke her arm in 2011 and then underwent corrective surgery last season. She next runs in Ostrava on Thursday.
