The climate is just like home says Justine, South Africa’s top Junior athlete. However, she is learning new things everyday being in Jamaica. She is very excited about being at Racers. I guess any eighteen year old travelling so far to experience what so many want, would be just as excited.
Justine is using this opportunity not just to hob nob with the stars at Racers Track CLub, but to improve on her technique while training with the world’s best. Her short stay makes her programme very compact, but she is not complaining. Already she has shown off what she has learnt in the few days, at the time trials last Saturday. She will participate in the Queen’s/Grace Jackson meet this Saturday. She will run with some of the island’s top junior athletes. Her pleasing personality has endeared her to several of the team members, who are willing to answer her several questions.
With just two weeks of training, she will not be able to see much of what Jamaica has to offer, but she will have a lot to take home with her.
We are so proud of our own home grown girl! Go Justine!!
